The Kings are even with the St. Louis Blues for the second wild card from the Western Conference, but the Blues, who are idle Monday, have played one fewer game. The Kings trail the Anaheim Ducks for third place in the Pacific Division by two points, but the Ducks will have one game in hand after Monday.
Calgary, nine points behind the Kings and Blues, would be eliminated from playoff contention with a regulation loss.
The Flames have been outscored 25-7 during a five-game losing streak (0-5-0), including a 5-1 loss at the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.
