A look at the game “by the numbers.”
- In 5-on-5 play, the Kraken generated 45.2-percent of all shot volume and 36.2-percent of all shot quality. The third period was their strongest – they tilted the ice their way in both categories.
- In a rare occurrence, the Kraken did not have the advantage in terms of offensive zone time but they did almost match the number of high-danger chances the Predators had creating 11 chances to Nashville’s 12.
- The Kraken had six rush chances to Nashville’s four.
- Jared McCann led all Kraken skaters in shot quality. He also had two chances off the rush and seven controlled entries (also team highs for the game).
- Oliver Bjorkstrand had the secondary assist on Burakovsky’s goal marking his 30th of the season and his 20th power play point. That’s a new career high for him in both categories.
- Philipp Grubauer put forth a valiant effort. His performance was right in line with expectations given the shot quality he faced.
