BETTER PUCK MANAGEMENT
The Jets played a solid game against a highly skilled Devils team on Sunday night up until the third period. Winnipeg made some bad decisions in their own end that ended up in the back of the net and that cost them the game. Tonight, they will face another one of the top teams in the NHL in the Rangers, so puck management and urgency will be critical to get them back into the win column.

PERFETTI OUT, GAGNER IN
Cole Perfetti scored last night in Newark and had another golden chance to tie the game when the Jets were on the power play in the third period. That being said, Perfetti looked a bit off when he was outraced to the puck by Dawson Mercer on the Devils empty net goal that made it 4-2. The young forward will not play tonight, and Sam Gagner will come into the lineup. Gagner played against Columbus but because of all the power plays for both teams, he only ended up with 4:52 of ice time. Connor Hellebuyck will get the start in goal; the Jets need to start winning games with Colorado and Minnesota breathing down their neck in the Central Division standings.
MORRISSEY VS. FOX
As the season winds down, two of the top candidates for the Norris Trophy will be on the ice at Madison Square Garden Monday night. The Jets Josh Morrissey is third in the NHL in defence scoring with 56 points and is still looking for one more point to become the new franchise leader for points by a defenceman in a single season. Dustin Byfuglien has held the record since the 2013-14 campaign. Adam Fox has assists in four of his last seven games. He has 10 goals and 43 assists for 53 points this season and is one of only three NHL players, and the only NHL defensemen, with 53+ points and a +25 rating or better this season. Others: David Pastrnak, Jason Robertson.
