Anthony Bitetto hopped on the Winnipeg Jets Instagram account on Wednesday where fans submitted questions for the defenceman. Bitetto reflected on the season so far, chatted all things pizza, and much more.
What's been your favourite moment this season so far?
We've had some good times, some good moments. I think the one that sticks out to me is the big win against New Jersey way back early in the year there. We were down 4-0, we came back and won in a shootout. That was probably my favourite moment.
Who do you miss most on the team?
Honestly, I miss all the boys. We had a really good group this year and hopefully we can get back to playing. I love coming to the rink every day, running my mouth, and having fun, enjoying what I do. So, it's obviously tough right now but hopefully we can get back and everyone can stay safe.
Favourite pizza slice in New York?
I'm going to have to go with Gino's Pizza in Long Beach. They've got a great Buffalo Chicken slice, it's definitely my favourite. I love going back in the summer and grabbing one of those.
What's your favourite hockey memory of all time?
It's got to be a couple years back in playoffs when Mike Fisher scored the triple-OT game winner. A lot of you Jets fans probably don't like that, but that's probably my favourite hockey memory so far. I'll never forget it, it was one of the loudest buildings and loudest moments in a hockey game I've ever been a part of. I remember jumping over the bench storming towards Pekks (Pekka Rinne) and it was a pretty special moment.
Who do you want to play in NHL 20 next?
First, I've got to get through this series (against Roman Josi), hopefully I can pull out a nice W. It would be cool to get a couple more guys from our team to play and maybe do a 2 vs. 2 or something like that.
Should pineapple be on pizza?
Yeah, I'm okay with it. It's not my first choice, but if pizza's sitting there I'm going to eat it.
Why did you choose to wear the number 2?
The reason I chose the number I wear is Brian Leetch wore 2 and so did Derek Jeter and those were my two big New York idols growing up. That's why I wear 2 and have worn 2 through my whole career.
What's your favourite thing about Winnipeg so far?
Besides the hockey, the fans and all the atmosphere of the games, one thing I like about Winnipeg is Meyer's deli.
Who was your favourite NHL player growing up?
Growing up in New York I was a huge Rangers fan and my favourite player growing up was Brian Leetch.
What's your favourite pre-game meal?
A nice pasta. I like penne pasta with a little bolognese sauce, some grilled chicken, and then put a bunch of vegetables in there like some peas, broccoli, and carrots. That's my go-to for games.
