WINNIPEG -For the first time in Winnipeg Jets head coach Paul Maurice's coaching career, he and his team are facing back-to-back games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Just one night after three goals in a span of 3:03 eliminated a 4-1 third period deficit to the Edmonton Oilers set the stage for overtime heroics from Nikolaj Ehlers - and a 5-4 Jets win - the two teams will face-off tonight in Game 4 at Bell MTS Place.
"I would say about an hour after the game the room was really quiet. Just calm. And that's kind of what we wanted in the morning here," said Maurice. "So there's no pump up video this morning, we just did some detail stuff. Got everybody fed, got them back for a rest.
"Just tried to keep things very kind of calm this morning. And then we'll try to wind it all up tonight."

Sunday's win in Game 3 gave the Jets a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series with the Oilers. As emotional as the comeback victory was, the Jets worked hard to recover as quickly as possible in order to prepare for Edmonton's best effort tonight.
"One team has everything to lose and the other team is in a better position," said Paul Stastny. "It's different in a 3-3 series, when it's like this you might think it's going to come easy, but it doesn't.
"We just have to stick with it. It's going to take 60 minutes or more, we have to be ready for that. They're going to leave it all out there."
The trio of Ehlers, Stastny, and Pierre-Luc Dubois combined for five points on Sunday.
Ehlers may have been playing his first game since April 24, but his two goals were massive for the Jets.

PREGAME | Paul Maurice

His first of the night was the first power play marker of the series for the Jets. His second, well, was the overtime winner.
That goal came off a Stastny face-off win, which capped off a night that saw the Jets win 63 percent of the face-offs.
It was the second time in the series the Jets had won at least 60 percent of the face-offs, and while Maurice says there isn't a big correlation between winning face-offs and winning games, there is a lot of evidence that they play a huge role in a period like overtime.
"If you're against an opponent that can really control the puck, I think faceoffs become far more important. You've got to win those, just to take it out of their hands early," said Maurice. "It can be the difference in the game like it was last night. One faceoff can be the difference to the shot."
The Jets won't make any changes to their line-up tonight, while the Oilers will have to do without Josh Archibald - who was suspended one game for clipping Logan Stanley in the third period.
It was that power play that started the Jets comeback.
However, Dubois says the Jets aren't looking back to last night. Their entire focus is on tonight, and hopefully giving themselves a chance to hear the same celebratory car horns they heard outside Bell MTS Place after Game 3's win.
"Just leaving the rink, you see everybody in the streets with the flags and honking their horns," said Dubois. "It was pretty special. I had goosebumps just leaving the rink last night."

Prior to the series, Maurice looked at this set of back-to-back games and felt the team that won Game 3 would have the momentum.
He's not traditionally someone that believes momentum carries from game to game, but in this case - with the tight turnaround time - it's something he feels will be a factor.

PREGAME | Stastny, Dubois

Maurice didn't anticipate being up 3-0 in the series at this point against a talented Oilers squad, who he knows will bring their best tonight.
"I think we both have our challenges coming in here," said Maurice. "For us it's cutting the euphoria of that kind of win off. And for them it's cutting the disappointment off, for sure. And then I think the situation of 3-0 means they're going to be hard as they can. They all will push hard and that's going to mandate that we do."
While the back-to-back games in the postseason has thrown a bit of a change in his routine, one thing won't change for Maurice tonight.
The attention to detail in his pre-game speech.
"It would start with the video we showed this morning. I'll just tie it to the video tonight and talk about our personality as a team," said Maurice. "I think the personality that grows, what you learn in games like last game and the first two. And then also the core of who we are has to be the basis of what we do."
Puck drop is set for 8:45 pm CT.
