The New York Islanders look to extend their point streak to six games (4-0-1) as they take on the Dallas Stars in a Saturday matinee at UBS Arena. The game will be the first leg of a back-to-back set.

The Islanders collected two points on St. Patrick's Day in what Head Coach Barry Trotz called "playoff-type game" as the Islanders edged the New York Rangers 2-1 on Thursday night. Ilya Sorokin was sensational in the win and clinched the top play on Sportscenter's Top-10 with a highlight-reel stick save on Artemi Panarin as part of his 29 save-performance. Anders Lee (power play) and Kyle Palmieri continued their scoring streaks in the win.
After dropping three-straight games, Dallas got back in the win column with a 4-3 overtime win over Montreal on Thursday night. John Klingberg (2G, 1A) scored the OT winner as well as the game-tying goal late in the third period, while Radek Faksa and Jamie Benn (1G, 2A) also found the back of the net in regulation. Jake Oettinger made 28 saves on 31 shots in the win. The Stars (69 points) are one point back of the Vegas Golden Knights (70 points) for the second Wild Card in the Western Conference. Dallas has four games in hand on Vegas.
This season, the Islanders have faced every team in the NHL except the Dallas Stars. Dallas will become the final Western Conference team to visit UBS Arena.
This will be the first meeting between the clubs since February 4, 2020, where Anthony Beauvillier's overtime goal lifted the Islanders to a 4-3 victory at Barclays Center.
