NEW YORK ISLANDERS (19-21-8) AT ANAHEIM DUCKS (25-20-9)8:30 PM ET | HONDA CENTERWATCH: MSG+ | MSG GO | ESPN+LISTEN: 88.7FM | 103.9FM | 1050AM
The New York Islanders four-game point streak was snapped on Saturday, but the five-game road trip continues as the Isles take on the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday night at 8:30 p.m.
The Islanders will look to start a new streak on Sunday and rid the sour taste of Saturday's 5-2 defeat at the hands of the LA Kings.

Anders Lee and JG Pageau scored for the Islanders on Saturday, but not before spotting the Kings a 3-0 lead. The loss on the scoreboard was compounded by the losses of Mathew Barzal (lower body) and Zdeno Chara (upper body), both of whom left the game in the second period and did not return.
The Islanders opponent is also coming in off a loss to the Kings as Anaheim fell to their freeway rivals 4-1 on Friday night.
Sunday marks the first meeting of the teams since the Ducks won a wild 6-5 shootout game at the Coliseum on December 21, 2019, and the Isles' first trip to Anaheim since the Ducks ended the Isles' 17-game point streak on November 25, 2019.

ISLANDERS NOTES:

• The big story from Saturday's game was the losses of Barzal and Chara. Head Coach Barry Trotz did not have an update on either player after Saturday's game. Barzal got tangled up with Phillip Danault midway through the second period, briefly left, took one more shift and ultimately exited the game. The Islanders leading scorer with 37 points, extended his assist streak to three games - with four assists over that span - before leaving the contest. Barzal has only missed four games - one as a healthy scratch, three in COVID-19 protocol - since the start of the 2017-18 season. Chara took his last shift about three minutes into the second period.
• The Islanders allowed the first goal for the 12th time in 15 games on Saturday and dropped to 5-17-3 when allowing the opening goal.

• Anders Lee scored his 14th goal of the season on Saturday night. Lee has 198 goals as an Islander. Only 11 players have scored 200 goals with the franchise.
Sebastian Aho extended his assist streak to four games - continuing his career-long. The defenseman has five assists in his last six games.
Noah Dobson recorded a pair of assists in the loss and has seven points (2G, 5A) in his last seven games.
Semyon Varlamov made his first start since Feb. 2, stopping 30-of-34 shots in the loss.
Ilya Sorokin is the likely starter to finish off the back-to-back set. With Varlamov out, Sorokin started eight-straight games from Feb. 9 to 24, going 3-3-2 over that span. Sorokin is coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. The Russian netminder stopped 25-of-28 shots in regulation and one of two in the shootout.
• The Islanders are 2-6-1 in the back end of back-to-backs this season. Under Barry Trotz, the Islanders are 23-10-5 in the second half of back-to-backs.
• The Islanders were shorthanded more than twice on Saturday, snapping a 15-game streak of being shorthanded two times or fewer.
Brock Nelson's career-high tying goal streak ended at four games.

DUCKS NOTES:

• The Ducks are in the thick of a wild card race in the Western Conference. Anaheim (59 points) is two points back of the Edmonton Oilers (61 points) for the second Wild Card spot, while also contending with the Dallas Stars, who also have 59 points, but also three games in hand on the Ducks.
• The Ducks are coming in off a 4-1 loss to the LA Kings on Friday night. Troy Terry scored the lone goal for the Ducks. Anaheim is 4-4-2 in their last 10 games.
• Terry leads the Ducks with 27 goals and 45 points this season. Terry has smashed his previous career-highs in goals (previously 7), assists (previously 13) and points (previously 20) as he leads the Ducks' youth movement. The 24-year-old also has seven game-winning goals this season, more than double the next closest Duck, and tied for second in the NHL.
• Rookie Trevor Zegras is second on the Ducks with 39 points (13G, 26A). Zegras - who wowed the hockey world with his over-the-net pass to Sonny Milano against Buffalo - is second in NHL rookie scoring, trailing only Detroit's Lucas Raymond. Prior to making a splash in the NHL, Zegras won a gold medal at the 2021 World Juniors and recorded 18 points in seven games. Zegras also played one year at Boston University (2019-20) with fellow Islanders' prospect Logan Cockerill.
Zegras had a three-game point streak (1G, 5A) snapped vs LA on Friday.
• Massapequa native Sonny Milano is third in Ducks scoring with 29 points (11G, 18A), which is also a new career-high.
• Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf is enjoying a bounce-back year offensively with 28 points (3G, 25A) in 44 games after posting 17 points (5G, 12A) in 48 games last year. Getzlaf's 18:51 TOI/GP leads all Ducks forwards.
• The Ducks have scored six shorthanded goals this season.
• Anaheim hired Pat Verbeek as the team's General Manager on Feb. 3. Verbeek is the sixth General Manager in Ducks history, replacing Bob Murray who resigned on Nov. 10.
• Shortly after hiring Verbeek, the Ducks named Hall of Famer Scott Niedermayer as a special advisor on Feb. 8.
