The league paid tribute to Chara after he sets games played record for a defenseman

Zdeno Chara made HistorZee on Thursday night, skating in his 1,652nd game and setting the record for most games by an NHL defenseman.
The Islanders recognized Chara's otherwordly accomplishment, but game respects game and the rest of the league tipped their cap to the 44-year-old defenseman.

Chara got a nice acknowledgement from the fans at SAP Center in San Jose, as well as a shoutout from NHL games played leader - and longtime Shark - Patrick Marleau.
