The New York Islanders were mathematically eliminated from the postseason, falling 3-0 to the Florida Panthers on Monday at Barclays Center.
"It's tough for us and it's not good enough," Head Coach Doug Weight said. "It's tough for the fans and everyone involved."
James Reimer made 32 saves as the Islanders - who entered the game seventh in goals-per-game (3.19) - were shut out for the fifth time this season. The loss was the Islanders' third straight and concluded the team's five-game homestand (1-4-0).
