The New York Islanders orchestrated their second third period comeback in as many nights with a 4-3 win over the New York Rangers on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden.
The Islanders came into the third period down 3-1, just as they did on Monday against the Calgary Flames, and they once again pulled out a 4-3 victory with a strong third period effort.
Kyle Palmieri, Adam Pelech, Brock Nelson and Anders Lee scored for the Islanders, and Filip Chytil, Chris Kreider and Vincent Trocheck scored for the Rangers.
With the win, the Islanders have won two straight games and seven of their last eight contests. They are also 2-0-0 against the Rangers this season.

First Period
6:04 - NYI 1, NYR 0 (PP) - Kyle Palmieri scores off a rebound in front of the net after a Ryan Pulock one-timer on the power play. Josh Bailey also tallies an assist.
11:44 - NYR 1, NYI 1 - Filip Chytil ends Varlamov's Madison Square Garden shutout streak at 251:36 on a wrist shot in the slot. K'Andre Miller and Adam Fox earn the assists.
Second Period
0:22 - NYR 2, NYI 1 (PP) - Chris Kreider buries a feed from Artemi Panarin on the power play to give the Rangers the lead. Vincent Trocheck picks up the secondary assist.
13:47 - NYR 3, NYI 1 (PP) - Trocheck wrists in a rebound from a Panarin shot. Mika Zibanejad also tallies an assist.
Third Period
0:14 - NYR 3, NYI 2 - Adam Pelech goes bar down from the high slot for his first of the season. Kyle Palmieri and Zach Parise pick up the assists.
12:46 - NYI 3, NYR 3 - Brock Nelson scores on a one-timer on the power play. Noah Dobson and Mathew Barzal earn the assists.
14:30 - NYI 4, NYR 3 - Anders Lee skates undetected to the front of the net, takes a pass from Romanov at the point and tucks it around Shesterkin.
