FINAL

The New York Islanders won their third-straight game as they defeated the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 on Sunday night at UBS Arena. They also closed out their six-game homestand with a (4-2-0) record.

THE SCORING:
First Period:
2:18 - NYI 1, ANA 0 - Zach Parise swept in a look from Mathew Barzal to score the game's icebreaker and give the Islanders a 1-0 lead.
9:48 - ANA 1, NYI 1 -Josh Manson equalized the score 1-1 for the Ducks as he snatched a turnover down low and roofed his shot. Buddy Robinson tallied an assist.
19:31 - NYI 2, ANA 1 - Kyle Palmieri skated into a sharp angle and snapped his shot top shelf to double the Islanders' lead 2-1. Josh Bailey and Jean-Gabriel Pageau picked up the assists.
19:56 - NYI 3, ANA 1 -Anders Lee redirected a point shot from Ryan Pulock to extend the Islanders' lead 3-1. Anthony Beauvillier also notched an assist.
Second Period:
14:23 - NYI 3, ANA 2 -Isac Lundestrom tipped in Hampus Lindholm's shot as both teams were on four-on-four to cut the Ducks' deficit down 3-2. Jamie Drysdale also collected an assist.
NYI 4, ANA 2 - Kyle Palmieri scored his second of the game and restored the Islanders' lead to two goals as he buried a one-timer from Scotty Mayfield's pass in the slot far-side top shelf. Josh Bailey also recorded an assist.
Third Period:
18:16 - NYI 4, ANA 3 -With the goalie pulled the Ducks trimmed their deficit down 4-3 late in the game as Adam Henrique tapped in a rebound on Ilya Sorokin's iniatil stop on Troy Terry. Terry and Trevor Zegras grabbed the assists.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
The Islanders were 0-for-2 on the power play and were 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
GOALTENDING BATTLE:
Ilya Sorokin made 39 saves 42 on shots for the Islanders.
John Gibson made 25 saves 29 on shots for the Ducks.
NOTEBOOK:
Sorokin made his 39th start of the season and improved his record 20-12-7 …. Zach Parise scored his eighth goal of the season… Palmieri buried his eighth and ninth goals of the season. The winger also extended his point streak to four games where he has picked up five points (2G, 3A) in that stretch… Lee registered his 21st goal of the season and extended his goal streak to four games where he scored seven goals in that span… With an assist, Beauvillier extended his point streak to four games where the winger has handed out seven helpers in that span… With an assist, Jean-Gabriel Pageau extended his point streak to four games. The centerman has compiled five points (1G, 4A)...
