Final

The New York Islanders snapped their five-game winless skid with a 4-1 victory over the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night, in the first half of a home-and-home set.
Ryan Pulock scored for the second time in two games to tie the game at one in the first period, but the Islanders had an explosive third frame to decide the game. Noah Dobson scored a power-play goal, Casey Cikizas recorded a shorthanded goal, and Anders Lee scored his 27th goal on the season at even strength to lead the Isles to a win. Conor Sheary scored the lone goal for the Capitals. The Islanders skated one man down against Washington; the Capitals were without Alex Ovechkin.
The Islanders beat Washington at Capital One Arena for the first time in six games.

      8:42 - NYI 3, WSH 1 SHG - The Islanders clear the zone on the Capitals power play, as Casey Cizikas chases the mishandled puck by Samsonov, scoring on the backhand from the ground to extend the Islanders lead late in the third.
      15:17 - NYI 4, WSH 1 - Anders Lee buries one to extend the Islanders lead late in the third frame, taking advantage of a turnover and beating Samsonov from range.

          Casey Cizikas records his ninth career shorthanded goal and first of the season… Kyle Palmieri had a goal disallowed in the first period… Ryan Pulock nets his fifth goal of the season, extending his point streak to three games, and his goal streak to two games… He also recorded a team-high five shots in the victory over the Capitals… With Tuesday's assist, Kieffer Bellows is riding a three-game point streak…The Islanders skated one short against Washington, only dressing 17 players (11F, 6D) for the first time since the 2006-07 season… Mat Barzal recorded 24:05 of ice time, his third highest total of the season... JG Pageau went 9-for-14 in the faceoff circle (61%) in his return to the lineup after missing three straight games... Robin Salo was recalled on an emergency basis.
