THE SCORING:
First Period:
17:26 - BOS 1, NYI 0 -Off a rush, Taylor Hall squeaked his shot under Ilya Sorokin's right arm from a sharp angle to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. Craig Smith and Mike Reilly collected the assists.
Second Period:
11:30 - NYI 1, BOS 1, PPG -Jean-Gabriel Pageau put away a power-play goal to tie the game for the Islanders. Noah Dobson and Mathew Barzal tallied the assists.
Third Period:
5:50 - NYI 2, BOS 1 -Noah Dobson wired a wrist shot from distance past Linus Ullmark to give the Islanders a 2-1 lead. The puck eluded traffic, hit the post, caromed off Ullmark's back and in. Brock Nelson secured the sole assist.
13:32 - NYI 3, BOS 1 - Mathew Barzal buried a rebound on the backdoor to extend the Islanders' lead to 3-1. Kieffer Bellows and Adam Pelech picked up assists.
18:47 - NYI 4, BOS 1, ENG -Brock Nelson sealed the game with an empty-net goal for good measure. Zdeno Chara earned the assist.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
The Islanders were 1-for-2 on the power play and were 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
