The New York Islanders picked up their third-straight win on Friday night, downing the New York Rangers 3-0 at Madison Square Garden.
Casey Cizikas, Matt Martin and Mathew Barzal scored for the Islanders, while Semyon Varlamov stopped all 27 shots he saw for his second shutout of the season. With the win, the Islanders improved to 2-0-0 at MSG this season and are 17-5-0 in their last 22 trips to Broadway.

1st Period:
2:40 - NYI 1, NYR 0 - Ryan Pulock keeps a puck in at the blue line, skates in down low and finds Casey Cizikas for a backdoor tap-in.
2nd Period:
4:48 - NYI 2, NYR 0 - The Islanders force a turnover on a Rangers zone entry and go back the other way. Mathew Barzal puts on the breaks, waits for a trailing Matt Martin and finds the winger, who beats Shesterkin stick side. Ross Johnston picks up the secondary assist.
3rd Period:
2:47 - NYI 3, NYR 0 - Mathew Barzal takes a feed from Oliver Wahlstrom and cuts across the crease before roofing a backhander past Shesterkin. The goal is Barzal's 300th point of his career.
