Anthony Beauvillier, Anders Lee and Josh Bailey scored, as the New York Islanders beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0 on Tuesday night at Webster Bank Arena.
Cory Schneider stopped all 24 shots he faced for the shutout, as the Islanders improved their preseason record to 3-0-1, including a pair of wins over the Flyers.

THE SCORING

First Period:
1:33 - NYI 1, PHI 0 PPG - Anthony Beauvillier opens the scoring with a power-play goal, snapping a wrist shot past Martin Jones. Josh Bailey and Erik Gustafsson with the assists.
19:05 - NYI 2, PHI 0 - Anders Lee goes to work in his office and sweeps a rebound underneath Martin Jones to put the Islanders up 2-0.
Second Period:

Third Period:
19:45 - NYI 3, PHI 0 PPG - Josh Bailey roofs a wrister past Martin Jones from in tight. Bailey's goal comes at the end of some prolonged pressure for the Islanders, who convert for their second power-play goal of the game. Gustafsson and Noah Dobson pick up assists on the play.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

The Islanders went 2-for-4 on the power play, with goals from Beauvillier and Bailey. The Islanders also went 3-for-3 on the penalty kill, improving to 14-for-14 in the preseason.

GOALTENDING BATTLE:

Cory Schneider stopped 24 shots for the Islanders, his first full game of the preseason. While it won't officially count towards his stats, Tuesday was Schneider's first NHL shutout since March 1, 2020 at Anaheim. Schneider made some quality saves in the third period on a Scott Laughton redirection and sprawled out for a stop on Garrett Wilson.
Martin Jones stopped 27-of-30 for the Flyers.

NOTEBOOK:

Anders Lee skated in a game for the first time since suffering a torn ACL on March 11. The Islanders' captain scored a goal and skated on a line with Mathew Barzal and Kyle Palmieri... Zdeno Chara made his Islanders preseason debut skating on a pairing with Noah Dobson, his partner through most of training camp... Anthony Beauvillier scored his second goal of the preseason... Erik Gustafsson, who is attending camp on a PTO, recorded his third and fourth assists of training camp.
