Preseason Game Preview: Islanders at Rangers

The New York Islanders kick off their preseason slate on Sunday night as they take on the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
The game is the first of six preseason contests for the Islanders this year and the first chance for Head Coach Barry Trotz to evaluate his lineup. The Isles coach said he plans to use the first two preseason games to get a look at the younger players in camp and get them experience in exhibition action after working on foundational skills in the first three days of camp.

The younger group includes 2019 first-round pick Simon Holmstrom, as well as the preseason debut of 2021 second-round pick Aatu Raty. Ilya Sorokin will start in goal for the Islanders. Full rosters are available below.
