The New York Islanders announced today that the club has signed defenseman Vladimir Dravecky to a three-year entry level contract.
Dravecky, 18, was selected by the Islanders in the fifth round (141st overall) of the 2026 NHL Draft. He made his North American debut with the Brantford Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 2025-26, recording 28 points (nine goals, 19 assists) in 58 games, along with a plus-24 rating. He added three assists in 11 OHL playoff games, helping Brantford reach the Eastern Conference Final.
Dravecky spent the 2024-25 season with Rögle BK in Sweden, recording 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in 37 games with the club's junior team. He also made his Swedish Hockey League debut at 17 years old, appearing in three games with Rögle.
The right-handed defenseman played in Slovakia during the 2023-24 season and in Czechia from 2021-23. Dravecky represented Czechia at the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship and 2025 Under-18 World Championship, earning a silver medal at both tournaments. He also played for Czechia at the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, recording three assists in five games to help the team earn a silver medal.
Dravecky recorded one assist in his preseason debut with the Islanders this season and has added four points (one goal, three assists) in four games with Guelph (OHL) in 2026-27.
