3:30 PM ET | CANADA LIFE CENTRE
WATCH: MSGSN | MSG GO | ESPN+
LISTEN: 88.7FM | 103.9FM | 1050AM
The New York Islanders kick off a two-game road trip on Sunday afternoon, with a matinee affair against the Winnipeg Jets at 3:30 p.m. eastern.
The Islanders are coming off a 3-2 loss to the LA Kings on Friday night, which snapped their two-game winning streak. Noah Dobson (PPG) and Adam Pelech scored, but it was not enough to dig the Islanders out of a 3-0 hole.

The Jets are coming off a 5-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Friday, where they allowed four goals in the opening 10:58. Mason Appleton scored the lone goal for the Jets.
The Islanders and Jets meet for the second time in less than a week, as the Isles beat the Jets 2-1 on Feb. 22 at UBS Arena. Sebastian Aho and Simon Holmstrom scored in the win, while Nikolaj Ehlers scored for the Jets.
The Islanders are 10-1-1 in Winnipeg since the Jets relocated in 2012 and have won three straight in Las Pegas.

ISLANDERS NOTES:
  • The Islanders (67 points, 62 games played) currently occupy the first wild card in the Eastern Conference. - Matt Martin tied his career-high with his 19th point of the season on Friday night, matching a mark he set in the 2015-16 season. Martin established a new career-long with a four-game point streak (1G, 3A) with an assist on Friday. Martin has six points (2G, 4A) in his last seven games, the last three of which he has spent on a line with Bo Horvat and Anders Lee.
    - Noah Dobson scored his 12th goal of the season on Friday and is one goal shy of matching his career-high (13), set last season. Per team statistician Eric Hornick, Dobson is just the third Islanders defenseman to have consecutive 12-goal seasons, joining Denis Potvin and Tomas Jonsson. Dobson leads all Isles d-men with 36 points (12G, 24A) this season.
Dobson's next assist will tie him with Adrian Aucoin for 24th all-time on the franchise's list for assists by a defenseman. His next point will tie him with Dave Langevin (109 points) for 22nd all-time in defenseman points.
    - Anders Lee (234 goals) is one goal shy of tying Bobby Nystrom (235 goals) for ninth all-time on the franchise goal list. Lee has 20 points (14G, 6A) in 17 career games against the Jets. The Islanders' captain has six points (3G, 3A) in his last five games.
JETS NOTES
  • The Jets are 1-4-0 in their last five games and have lost two straight games. Winnipeg has been held to one goal in three of those losses and has only scored more than two goals once over that span.
    - The Jets acquired Nino Niederreiter from the Nashville Predators in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. Niederreiter, 30, has played 56 games for the Predators this season and has 28 points (18G, 10A). He was originally drafted by the Islanders with the fifth-overall pick in 2010 and has played 788 total games for the Islanders (64 games), Minnesota Wild (434), Carolina Hurricanes (234), and Nashville and has recorded 396 points (199G, 197A).
    - Cole Perfetti will miss a minimum of eight weeks with an upper-body injury, the Jets announced on Friday. At the time of his injury, Perfetti, the 10th overall pick in 2020, was third among NHL rookies with 30 points, trailing only Anaheim's Mason McTavish (32), and Seattle's Matty Beniers (42).
    - The Jets are in the midst of a three-game homestand and a stretch of five-of-six games at Canada Life Centre. The Jets are 20-9-0 at home this season.
    - Mark Scheifele leads Winnipeg with 34 goals, which is the second-highest total of his career. Scheifele's career-high is 38, set during the 2018-19 season.
    - Connor Hellebuyck has lost two straight games, allowing two goals in a 2-1 loss to the Isles on Wednesday and five goals in 40 minutes in Friday's loss to the Avalanche. Hellebuyck has only lost three straight games once this season (Jan. 24-28). He is 26-18-1 with a 2.46 GAA, a .923 SV% and three shutouts.
