The New York Islanders will look to get back into the win column, as they'll visit Montreal to take on the Canadiens in a matinee matchup on Saturday.
The Islanders are coming off a 6-5 loss against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night at UBS Arena. Bo Horvat and Anthony Beauvillier faced their respective former teams for the first time since the trade, and both players found the back of the net. Kyle Palmieri, Brock Nelson, Mat Barzal (1G, 2A), Horvat (1G, 1A), and Noah Dobson (1G, 1A) scored for the Islanders, but Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Brock Boeser (1G, 2A), Niks Aman, Elias Pettersson (2G, 1A) and Beauvillier (GWG) scored for Vancouver. The Islanders carried a 4-2 lead late into the second period, but the Canucks rallied to complete the comeback.

"In the course of a long season you'll have a handful of games like that," Head Coach Lane Lambert said on Friday. "The key is to refocus. Our group is excited to get on the ice tomorrow. We're glad it's an afternoon game to get right back at it."
The Canadiens are coming off 10 days rest, having not played since the NHL All-Star break. Montreal fell 5-4 in a divisional matchup against the Ottawa Senators on Jan. 31. Rafael Harvey-Pinard scored a pair of goals to compliment tallies from Mike Hoffman (1G, 1A) and Kirby Dach, but it was not enough to counteract Ottawa's offensive display of Brady Tkachuk (1G, 1A), Alex Debrincat, Tim Stützle (2G, 2A) and Claude Giroux.
The last time the Islanders and Canadiens faced off resulted in a 2-1 victory for New York on Jan. 14. Casey Cizikas and former Islander Anthony Beauvillier had goals in the victory - which snapped a four-game winless skid for the Islanders - while Nick Suzuki scored the lone goal for the Canadiens.
New York has the edge on the season series 1-0. The Islanders will conclude the regular season against the Canadiens on Apr. 12 at UBS Arena.

    - Noah Dobson snapped a 19-game goalless drought on Thursday. The young defenseman has 30 points (11G, 19A) on the season.
CANADIENS NOTES:

    - The Canadiens agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with Jordan Harris on Friday. The 22-year-old has 11 points (1G, 10A) in 47 games this season and was drafted 71st overall by Montreal in the 2018 NHL draft.
    - Nick Suzuki leads the Canadiens in points (40) and assists (24). The 23-year-old forward recorded five points (2G, 3A) in six career games played against the Islanders.
    - Cole Caufield is the team leader in goals (26), which is a career-best for the young winger in his third season with Montreal, but Caufield's season was cut short due to season-ending shoulder surgery in January.
    - Justin Barron was recalled on Dec. 28, recording four assists in 14 games while garnering attention for his defensive attributes. "When he got called up, he was more dialed in defensively," Head Coach Martin St. Louis said on Friday. "He has good instincts."
