RALEIGH, N.C. - Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has signed defenseman Pierre-Olivier Joseph to a one-year contract. The deal will pay Joseph $850,00 for the 2026-27 season.
About Pierre-Olivier Joseph:
- Joseph spent the 2025-26 season with the Vancouver Canucks, tallying six points (1g, 5a) in 31 games.
- He has totaled 46 points (9g, 37a) in 225 career NHL games with Pittsburgh, St. Louis and Vancouver.
- The 27-year-old recorded 64 points (14g, 50a) and 104 penalty minutes in 138 career AHL games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from 2019-2023.
- He recorded 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 points in 2021-22 with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, finishing first among club defensemen in goals, second in points and third in assists.
- The 6’2”, 185-pound blueliner registered 140 points (29g, 111a) with a +47 plus/minus rating and 205 penalty minutes in 235 career QMJHL games with the Charlottetown Islanders.
- The Laval, Quebec, native helped Canada win a gold medal at the 2023 IIHF World Championship.
- Joseph was originally selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the first round, 23rd overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
