The Vegas Golden Knights historical Season X has arrived as they begin their 10th season with a matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. PT at T-Mobile Arena.

In the offseason, the Golden Knights added Parker Wotherspoon, Marc Gatcomb and Victor Olofsson to the roster. Rasmus Andersson, Jeremy Lauzon, and Dylan Coghlan all signed extensions with Vegas.
Ryan Craig will make his NHL head coaching debut after guiding the AHL's Henderson Silver Knights the past three seasons.
Vegas posted a 39-26-17 record and 95 points in the 2025-26 season, earning their fifth Pacific Division title, third Western Conference championship, and third berth to the Stanley Cup Final. The Golden Knights ultimately fell in six games to the Carolina Hurricanes in the Final.
OPENING KNIGHT
The Gold Carpet presented by Naqvi Injury Law will begin on Paramount+ Plaza at 4 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive at 3:30 p.m. to welcome broadcasters, members of the VGK cast, coaches, and players ahead of the game. Fans should also arrive early to the Gold Carpet as a limited quantity of Season X giveaways are available for the first 500 attendees, and the opportunity to enter to win tickets to Opening Knight will be available. The first 10,000 fans inside The Fortress will receive a Season X patch presented by Naqvi Injury Law, and all fans will be treated to an all-new, one-of-a-kind in-arena pregame show.

2024-25 SEASON SERIES
The Golden Knights posted a 2-0-1 record against the Blackhawks during the 2025-26 season. The teams met for the first time on Dec. 2, 2025, at T-Mobile Arena with Vegas taking a 4-3 shootout victory. This matchup marked Carter Hart’s return to the NHL as he earned the shootout win in net, stopping 27 of 30 shots. Ivan Barbashev (1G, 1A), Braeden Bowman (1G, 1A), Shea Theodore (2A) each recorded two-point nights. A month later, the Golden Knights traveled to United Center to face the Blackhawks but fell 3-2 in overtime. Tyler Bertuzzi recorded all three goals for Chicago, completing the hat trick at 1:18 of overtime. The Golden Knights closed out their season series on March 14 with a 4-0 shutout victory. Adin Hill stood tall in net, stopping all 21 shots faced. Mitch Marner and Mark Stone tallied multi-assist nights, and Rasmus Andersson recorded his second goal as a Golden Knight in the win.
OPPOSITION UPDATE
The Chicago Blackhawks will start their 2026-27 regular season with a three-game road trip, beginning in Vegas. Tuesday marks Patrick Kane’s return to the Blackhawks after spending the last three seasons with the Detroit Red Wings. On Sept. 15, Chicago announced Connor Bedard as its 37th captain in franchise history. Notable offseason additions to the Blackhawks include Kane, Bowen Byram, Cole Smith and Ian Cole. Bedard led the Blackhawks in scoring last season with 75 points (30G, 45A), followed by Tyler Bertuzzi with 58 points (32G, 26A), and Frank Nazar with 41 points (15G, 26A).

Vegas’ new additions will look to make an immediate impact and help elevate the team’s winning mentality as Season X gets underway.
Best Foot Forward: Head Coach Ryan Craig stated he was excited to see this specific group of guys get to work on Opening Knight. Craig believes all four lines contain an element that creates offense, and that each line is a 200-foot trio where they’re expected to check and defend on both ends of the ice. Urgency and commitment were common themes throughout Training Camp, and that is expected to continue into the regular season.
