This is the first meeting between the Golden Knights and Islanders this season. New York went 2-0-0 against Vegas in 2017-18 and outscored the Golden Knights 7-4 in two games.

In the second game of a back-to-back, the Golden Knights skated to a 4-2 victory against the Dallas Stars on Sunday. Goals from Ryan Carpenter, William Karlsson, Alex Tuch and Reilly Smith propelled Vegas to a key victory at home.

The Islanders find themselves in playoff position through 29 games this season. They own a 14-11-4 record for 32 points.
New captain Anders Lee leads the team in goals with 11 while Josh Bailey (7G, 17A) paces the club in overall scoring with 24 points. Calder trophy winner Mat Barzal only has three goals this season, but has made up for that with 20 assists.
The Islanders are splitting their home schedule between Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island. Wednesday's game is at Barclays Center.
