MARK GIORDANO ON FACING THE OILERS:

ON THE FIRST 10 GAMES:

"We know, as a team, that we can be a lot better when it comes to the physical side of the game. We've got to get pucks in and put a little more grit in there and get in on the forecheck and hold pucks. It's been there in spurts - the Montreal game comes to mind - but it just has to be way more consistent, and we've got to get back to that. I thought we were a pretty intimidating team at that point in the bubble last year, and we've got to get back to that sort of style where our forecheck is our biggest strength."

CHRIS TANEV ON '60-MINUTE' GAME:

"Like (Rasmus Andersson) said, we haven't played as good as we wanted to after that first break. We need to take care of the little details, get pucks deep, kill our penalties, score on the powerplays. I mean, special teams are such an important part of the game now. Blocked shots, get on the forecheck - there are so many little details in a game that we need to be successful at in order to have a consistent, 60-minute game."

ON GETTING BACK IN WIN COLUMN:

"Regardless of who we're playing tomorrow, it's a big game after losing the last two in Winnipeg. Tomorrow's a huge game, a bigger game because it's Edmonton and with the emotions, the Battle of Alberta stuff, but it's just as big a game as playing whoever; Toronto, Montreal. In this shortened season, we've got to win as many games as we can."

JACOB MARKSTROM ON BATTLE OF ALBERTA:

"Excited. It's going to be a fun game and watching from the outside looking in, it's been a lot of battles and some tough games, but with a lot of emotion. I'm excited to play them tomorrow. Like every game in this Canadian division, it's been more physical than it usually is in the regular season."

GEOFF WARD ON DEREK RYAN:

"He blocked a shot with his hand and it did some damage to a finger. It's not as bad as we originally anticipated. We're now referring him to a specialist to see exactly what the rest of that entails and we'll know more tomorrow."

ON RESPONSE AT FRIDAY'S PRACTICE:

"I thought we got what we needed out of today. I liked the energy. I liked the fact that guys were vocal and having some fun out there; pucks were on the tape, they were crisp ... and that's all an indication of the building blocks to get ready for tomorrow. I thought the guys were on task today getting themselves ready to play tomorrow."
