MANGIAPANE ON THE RESPONSE:

ON THAT CRUCIAL FIRST SHIFT:

"I feel like we're a good team and we're especially really good when we start on time and have a good first period. That's just involves not even scoring - it's about breaking out clean, getting shots, chances, finishing your checks. Just being engaged in the game. Our first periods, that's when we're good and we need to keep doing that."

ON THE PLAYOFF PUSH:

"Honestly, I think we've been playing playoff hockey for the past 30 games now or whatever situation we've been in. We kind of did this to ourselves and now it's time for us to see what we're really made of, focus on one game at a time and see what we can do with it."

ON WINNIPEG/NASHVILLE'S RESULTS:

"Obviously, doesn't really matter what they do - win or lose. We just have to worry about ourselves. We don't have many games here, so we have to go on a streak and we've got to pile some wins together. That's all that matters for us."

STECHER ON HIS FIRST GOAL AS A FLAME:

"Just came off the bench. Huby tried to hit a late goal and it kind of slipped through. I just had momentum, so I carried it to the net. I picked a spot, closed my eyes and I hit my spot. It felt good.
"I don't think I'm really known for my offence, so it doesn't really bother me. I take pride in the way I play hockey and the way I play my game. Any time I can add the offence, it's obviously a benefit to the team. I'm just happy I could contribute."

ON A BIG WIN:

"It goes without saying, they're must-win games now. Get a goal first shift of the game is obviously huge. That brings a lot of momentum for our group and it was a great way to respond after last night. So, it was a big win."

BACKLUND ON PUTTING LAST GAME BEHIND THEM:

"It was a better effort tonight. Scoring right away helps. It gets the boys going. I thought we had some good jump right away and took charge of the game.
"We talked about having two bad starts in a row and we knew we had to be better. Scoring right away always helps. It gives some energy to the group. We wanted to come out and show that we're better than last night and last night wasn't good enough and wasn't acceptable. We wanted to rebound from that."

ON THE TIGHT PLAYOFF RACE:

"It's exciting time. It's the best time of year getting closer to playoffs and fighting for our lives here. It's exciting. Everyone gets a little more jacked up and ready to go. I enjoy it. I think it's a great time of the year."

ON SETTING NEW CAREER HIGH IN ASSISTS:

"It feels good always hitting big milestones. … Looking back when I started my career, I don't know if I was expecting to get that many assists with the way things started in my career. Yeah, I'm excited I reached it."

SUTTER ON KEEPING PACE IN THE STANDINGS:

"You've got to go a game at a time. Because if you don't, then there's literally guys in here that were pulling the plug. It's really simple. You just want to keep every game meaningful."
