Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today that they have re-signed forward Brennan Othmann to a one-year, two-way contract extension.
Othmann began the 2025-26 season splitting time between the New York Rangers and their AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack. He was then acquired by Calgary on March 6, 2026, where he would go on to play in two games with the Flames, registering two points. A Pickering, ON native, Othmann would also suit up for an additional 14 games with the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers.
The 23-year-old winger was a first-round pick by New York in 2021 and would subsequently go on to win back-to-back gold medals with Team Canada at the 2022 and 2023 World Junior Championships as well as the 2023 OHL championship with the Peterborough Petes.
The following season, Othmann made the jump to the professional level, finishing second on the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) in scoring with 49 points in 67 games and was selected to play in the AHL All-Star Game.
