The Oilers grabbed a 1-0 lead 6:48 into the first period on a rebound goal from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, but the Flames battled back and equalized later in the frame. Weegar completed a give-and-go sequence with Mikael Backlund with a one-timer from the high slot that caromed past Edmonton netminder Connor Ingram off an Oilers defenceman.
