FACING THE CAPS
The Flames and Capitals have split their season series the last three years. Last season, the Flames picked up a 3-2 win at the Verizon Center in Washington on Nov. 13 while the Capitals collected a 6-2 victory during their stop at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Oct. 20.
Sean Monahan, who made his NHL debut against the Capitals on Oct. 3, 2013, has scored in three straight games against Washington. During that stretch, he has netted four goals -- two of which were game-winners.

ON A STREAK
The Flames head into tonight's tilt on a three-game winning streak. They have outscored their opponents 12-5 during that span, received offensive contributions from 17 skaters and have seen their power play operate at a 30 percent clip. Over the the last three games, Sam Bennett has three goals and five points, Dougie Hamilton has netted two goals and five points, and Micheal Ferland has three assists. Goaltender Brian Elliott has gotten the start in all three wins, posting a 1.62 GAA and a .922 save percentage.
FORMER CAPS
Troy Brouwer spent four seasons with the Capitals, posting 83 goals and 152 points during his time in Washington. He also played in 35 postseason games, amassing three goals and nine points.
Dennis Wideman dressed for 96 games with the Capitals earlier in his career, scoring 12 goals and 53 points during that time. He skated in 14 playoff games, chipping in with three assists in the postseason.
ROAD WARRIORS
The Flames play 11 of their next 15 games on the road. On Monday, the team departs for a four-game swing that includes stops in Chicago, San Jose, Los Angeles, and Anaheim.
