FACING THE DUCKS
Tonight's game is the first of five between the Calgary Flames and Anaheim Ducks in the 2016-17 season. This year, the season series will see the two clubs face off three times in Calgary and twice in Anaheim. The Flames next stop in Anaheim comes on Apr. 4, 2017.
The Flames are looking to snap a 23-game losing skid at the Honda Center, with their last regular season victory in Anaheim coming on Jan. 19, 2004.

SUMMONED FROM STOCKTON
With forward Kris Versteeg out with a groin injury, the Flames have recalled winger Hunter Shinkaruk from the Stockton Heat. He met the team in Los Angeles on Saturday but did not play in the 5-0 loss to the Kings.
In seven games with the Heat this season, Shinkaruk has four goals and seven points. Last year, after being acquired in a trade that sent Markus Granlund to the Vancouver Canucks, the Calgary, AB product played in seven games with the Flames, scoring two goals and three points.
STAYING EVEN
Three players held onto an even plus/minus rating in last night's 5-0 setback to the LA Kings: Micheal Ferland, Deryk Engelland and Brett Kulak.
Ferland logged 12:45 of ice time in the loss, put one shot on net and had two hits. Engelland put in 22:49, had one shot, one hit, and blocked four shots. Kulak, in his fifth game of the year, had 21:33 of ice time, one shot, three hits, and blocked one shot.
