The Santa Margarita Eagles from the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League won the USA Hockey National Championship (Division 1) today in Plymouth, Minnesota in dramatic fashion.

Santa Margarita was trailing Regis Jesuit (Aurora, Colorado) 2-1 late in the third period and tied the score with two seconds remaining in regulation (Joseph Felicicchia scored the tying goal).
Then Teemu Selanne's son, Leevi, scored in overtime to win the National Championship. This is the second title for Santa Margarita (also 2013). The team is coached by former Duck Craig Johnson, whose son, Ryan, is also on the team. In league and playoff games this season, Santa Margarita had a 30-0 record.
