Devils Acquire Sprong

The New Jersey Devils and President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald announced today that the team has acquired forward Daniel Sprong from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for New Jersey’s 2026 seventh-round pick.

Cody glass trade

The New Jersey Devils and President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald announced today that the team acquired forwards Cody Glass and Jonathan Gruden in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins for Chase Stillman, unsigned draft choice Max Graham, and New Jersey’s 2027 third-round draft pick.

Devils Acquire Cholowski

The New Jersey Devils have acquired defenseman Dennis Cholowski in a trade with the New York Islanders in exchange for forward Adam Beckman. The announcement was made by President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald and Devils’ Assistant General Manager/Utica Comets General Manager Dan MacKinnon. Cholowski will report to New Jersey.

Kovacevic extended

Kovacevic Extended for Five Years

The New Jersey Devils announced today that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Johnathan Kovacevic on a five-year contract worth $20,000,000 with an annual average value of $4,000,000. The contract breakdown is as follows: 2025-26: $5,250,000; 2026-27: $4,750,000; 2027-28: $3,700,000; 2028-29: $3,150,000 & 2029-30: $3,150,000. Kovacevic was due to be an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2025. The announcement was made by President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald.

Devils Acquire Dumoulin

The New Jersey Devils and President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Brian Dumoulin via trade from Anaheim in exchange for unsigned draft choice Herman Traff and a 2025 conditional second-round draft pick (previously acquired, conditions are the selection will be the earlier of Edmonton or Winnipeg’s second-round pick). Anaheim is retaining 50% of Dumoulin's contract for the remainder of the season ($1,575,000 on a $3,150,000 cap hit).

LaChance Added Tuesday

The New Jersey Devils announced Tuesday that the team has acquired forward Shane LaChance from Edmonton for facilitating an existing trade between the Edmonton Oilers and Boston Bruins for Trent Frederic. The announcement was made by President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald.
