The Devils went with a full-bore youth movement for the 2020-21 season. The team featured the youngest NHL lineup at the start of the season, and it only got younger with the trade of veteran players at the NHL's annual trade deadline.
New Jersey had seven rookies make their NHL debut: Ty Smith, Yegor Sharangovich, Mikhail Maltsev, Tyce Thompson, Marian Studenic, Nolan Foote and Kevin Bahl. All of them have recorded their first-career NHL point within days of their debut.
On top of that, Nathan Bastian and Nick Merkley also contributed as rookies this season. Defenseman Colton White also appeared in two games. Here's a recap of each novice Devils player.
