Workouts, informal skates continue on the South Shore

BROSSARD - There was no shortage of activity at the Bell Sports Complex again on Wednesday.

Twenty-six players hit the ice on the South Shore for an informal group skate, including forwards Tomas Plekanec, Brendan Gallagher, Jonathan Drouin, Phillip Danault, Nicolas Deslauriers, Artturi Lehkonen, Paul Byron, Joel Armia, Jacob de la Rose, Charles Hudon, Matthew Peca, Michael Chaput, Jeremiah Addison, Daniel Audette and Alexandre Grenier.

Defensemen Jeff Petry, Jordie Benn, Karl Alzner, Mike Reilly, David Schlemko, Xavier Ouellet, Rinat Valiev, David Sklenicka and Michal Moravcik also skated, as did goaltenders Antti Niemi and Michael McNiven.

The gym was also jam-packed earlier in the day, of course.

ROOKIE CAMP REMINDER
The Canadiens will open their annual Rookie Camp on Thursday, September 6th at the Bell Sports Complex.
Thirty players are slated to participate

On Friday, September 7th, the NHL Rookie Showdown will begin at Place Bell in Laval. The Canadiens' prospects will open play against the best and brightest in the Ottawa Senators' system at 7 p.m. ET.

The Habs rookies will be back in action on Sunday, September 9th against the Toronto Maple Leafs' future stars with an afternoon tilt beginning at 3 p.m. ET.

TRAINING CAMP REMINDER
The Canadiens will open their main training camp on Thursday, September 13th at the Bell Sports Complex.
Claude Julien's troops will play a friendly intrasquad scrimmage at the Bell Centre on Sunday, September 16th beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
