Markus Eisenschmid

MONTREAL - The Canadiens agreed to terms on a two-year, two-way NHL contract (2016-17 - 2017-18) with forward Markus Eisenschmid on Saturday.

The 21-year-old native of Marktoberdorf, Germany has six goals, 10 points and a plus-6 differential in 32 games with the AHL's St. John's IceCaps this season.
During his first year in the North American pro ranks in 2015-16 following a two-year stint with the WHL's Medicine Hat Tigers, the 6-foot-1, 180 lb. centerman amassed one goal and five points in 28 games with Sylvain Lefebvre's squad.
Undrafted, Eisenschmid first attended the Canadiens' development and training camps as an invitee in 2015 before eventually being signed by the IceCaps.
