MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the team has acquired forward Andreas Martinsen from the Colorado Avalanche in return for Sven Andrighetto.

The 26-year-old Martinsen took part in 55 games thus far this season with the Avalanche, registering seven points (3 goals, 4 assists). He has averaged 9:38 of ice time per game this season, amassed 146 hits and served 32 penalty minutes.
The 6'3'' and 220 lbs forward has played 110 career NHL regular season games since his debut in 2015-16. Martinsen has recorded 18 points (7 goals, 11 assists), including one game-winning goal, and 79 penalty minutes.
A native of Bærum, Norway, Martinsen joined the Avalanche as a free agent on May 15, 2015.
Selected in the third round, 86th overall by the Canadiens at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Sven Andrighetto appeared in 27 games in 2016-17, registering eight points (2 goals, 6 assists). In 83 regular season games since making his NHL debut with Montreal in 2014-15, he collected 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) and served 10 penalty minutes.
