MONTREAL - With the Canadiens' 2019-20 campaign in the rearview mirror, it's time to look back at how it all went down for the Habs this season. Next up: Carey Price.

The skinny
By merely stepping onto the ice this season, Price took another step up the Canadiens' record books. With 2019-20 being his 13th season in Montreal, the veteran backstop overtook Patrick Roy for most career seasons by a goalie in team history.* He started off the campaign strong, posting a 6-3-1 record, 2.59 goals-against average, .914 save percentage and one shutout in October. And after seeing his numbers dip in November, Price rebounded in December including a stretch in which he posted a 6-3-0 record, 2.11 GAA and .927 SV% heading into the Christmas break.

In mid-January, Price picked up his 20th win of the season. It was the 10th time he had collected that many victories in a campaign, moving him ahead of Jacques Plante for most all-time on the Habs.* A few weeks later, he earned the 47th shutout of his storied career, which vaulted him past Ken Dryden into third place in franchise history in that category. Price finished with a 27-25-6 record, 2.79 GAA, .909 SV%, and four shutouts, and was the League leader in minutes (3,439:49) and starts (58) in 2019-20.

Notable numbers
Playoff punditry
As his teammates have often said, anything can happen in the playoffs with Price minding the crease - and happen, things did. Price stopped 126 of the 133 shots he faced in the Qualifying Round, helping to oust Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins in four games with an incredible 1.67 GAA, .947 SV%, and one shutout. That save percentage was the highest by a Habs goalie in a playoff series since Dryden's .976 against the Chicago Blackhawks in 1976.* The All-World netminder continued his stellar play against the Philadelphia Flyers, registering a 1.87 GAA, .926 SV%, and one shutout in six games. The 33-year-old closed out the 2019-20 postseason tied for third all-time in career playoff shutouts on the Habs (6), fourth all-time in career wins (30), and his 1.78 goals-against average this summer was the seventh-lowest by a Montreal backstop in one playoff year.*
Save of the year

They said it
"We were definitely all motivated going into the series. Nobody was giving us a prayer to beat them. That definitely played a factor into it. I thought we all took it with a grain of salt and went out there and just tried to prove everybody wrong." -Price on August 7, after the Habs ousted the Penguins in the Qualifying Round
