    2. The Canadiens returned home from seven days on the road in California and Vegas on Sunday, following a 4-3 loss to the Golden Knights. Montreal was blanked through the first two periods in Sin City, but made a game of it with a three-goal final 20. Jake Allen made 24 saves in the outing which saw Montreal drop a third consecutive decision.

Condensed Game: Canadiens @ Golden Knights

  1. Tuesday's game comes four days after a relatively quiet NHL Trade Deadline for the Canadiens. General manager Kent Hughes made a pair of moves on Friday, acquiring Tony Sund and a 2024 fifth-round pick from San Jose, in addition to trading Nate Schnarr to Los Angeles in exchange for Frederic Allard. The latter made his Canadiens debut in Vegas on Sunday
before being reassigned to the Laval Rocket
    to start the week.
The Canadiens did not practice on Monday, meaning any further changes to the lineup will be known during Tuesday's game day skate. Fans can tune in to head coach Martin St-Louis' pregame press conference live on

4. At the other end of the ice, the Hurricanes arrive in Montreal with seven wins in their last 10 outings, including a 6-0 thumping of the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday. Teuvo Teraveinen scored a hat trick in the game which also saw Andrei Svechnikov, Shayne Gostisbehere and Jesperi Kotkaniemi find the back of the net. Goaltender Frederik Andersen had a quiet night at the office, making just 14 saves for the shutout. Carolina has several offensive threats to keep an eye on, with Martin Necas, Sebastian Aho, Svechnikov and Brent Burns all totalling 50-plus points on the year. Newcomer Jesse Puljujarvi could make his Carolina debut on Tuesday, while Aho will notably play his 500th NHL game. The Canes currently sit second in the East with a 41-12-8 record.
