MONTREAL - Less than 24 hours after stepping off the Bell Centre ice on Wednesday, the Canadiens will be back in preseason action against the visiting New Jersey Devils on Thursday.

Head coach Claude Julien will opt for a lineup similar to the one he utilized in Quebec City on Monday, aside from in goal, where starter Carey Price will be backed up by Zachary Fucale.

Brendan Gallagher, Alex Galchenyuk, Phillip Danault, Jeff Petry, Torrey Mitchell and Paul Byron are among the Habs regulars that will suit up against New Jersey.

At the other end of the ice, first overall pick from the 2017 NHL Draft, Nico Hischier, Taylor Hall, Marcus Johansson, Will Butcher and Kyle Palmieri will all be in uniform for John Hynes' squad.

Keith Kinkaid and Ken Appleby will share the work between the pipes.

On Wednesday, the Habs dropped a 4-2 decision to the Washington Capitals.

Charles Hudon and Max Pacioretty were the Montreal goalscorers - both on the power play - while Carey Price made eight saves on 10 shots over 29:22 of ice time. Charlie Lindgren allowed one goal on 11 shots, and the Capitals added an empty netter.

The Devils are likewise coming off a loss, falling 4-3 to the Rangers in overtime on Wednesday.
