NEW YORK - Here are five things you need to know ahead of Tuesday night's game against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

  1. The Canadiens are coming off a dramatic 4-3 shootout win the night before in Brooklyn. Down 3-1 after the first period, the Habs scored once in the second period and once in the third to claw their way back in before Joel Armia sent it home in the fifth round of the shootout to help prevent his team from losing two games in a row, something they've avoided all season long.

  1. Max Domi scored the second-period goal to make it 3-2, a tally which was his third in the last three games. Domi has six goals in his last six games and leads the Canadiens with 15 points on the season. He was one of three players to earn two points in the win, with the others being Jonathan Drouin (1G, 1A) and Noah Juulsen (1G, 1A). Juulsen had a strong night in Brooklyn, registering five hits and four blocked shots.

  1. The Habs are not skating ahead of Tuesday's game, but following Monday's morning skate, Claude Julien announced that Carey Price would start against the Rangers after giving Antti Niemi the nod at the Barclays Center. Price has a sparkling 16-6-1 lifetime record against the Blueshirts, with a 1.93 goals-against average and .936 save percentage in 24 games.
  1. For their part, the Rangers currently sit four points out of last place in the East with 13 points off a 6-7-1 record, although they have won their last three games. On Sunday, they defeated the Buffalo Sabres 3-1 at home, with goaltender Henrik Lundqvist earning the 435th win of his career. Mika Zibanejad leads New York with 11 points (5G, 6A), while Chris Kreider is the Rangers' top goal-scorer with six markers.
    5. Puck drop for Tuesday night's game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The game will be televised on TSN2 and RDS, and can be caught on the radio on TSN 690 and 98,5 fm.
