COLUMBUS - Sam Montembeault made 30 saves and the Canadiens scored three unanswered goals on Wednesday to bounce right back from a tough outing the evening prior.

With the Habs playing a second game in as many nights, head coach Martin St-Louis made a few changes to his lineup ahead of puck drop.
Montembeault replaced Jake Allen between the pipes, while Arber Xhekaj and Johnathan Kovacevic swapped in for Chris Wideman and Jordan Harris on the blue line.

The two teams got off to a quieter start - literally - than they did when they last met at Nationwide Arena six days ago. The Columbus canon was kept silent in a scoreless opening period which saw the Habs hold a 7-6 edge in shots.
Montembeault starred again in the middle frame, registering 10 saves to maintain the deadlock. The 26-year-old notably made a pair of back-to-back stops on the breakaway to set the tone in the second.

It was the hosts who got on the board first early in the third, but the lead was short-lived.
Mathieu Olivier scored an unassisted goal following a turnover 1:08 into the final stanza to make it 1-0, before Xhekaj replied with the equalizer 90 seconds later.
Xhekaj fired a shot through traffic for his third of the season to knot things back up.

Fellow D-man David Savard put the Habs ahead for the first time 57 seconds later with a deflected shot off his skate. Cole Caufield's impressive pass to set up the tally earned him an assist on the play.
