Carey Price

KANATA - Here are a few key storylines from the Canadiens' 3-0 win over the Ottawa Senators at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Carey couldn't be solved
The Canadiens' starter was brilliant against the Senators. Price made 30 saves to register his fourth shutout of the season.
The 32-year-old goaltender made several highlight-reel stops, including this one against Anthony Duclair during the second period.

It was the 48th shutout of his career. He is now just 10 shutouts shy of matching Hall of Famer Jacques Plante for second spot in team history.
Following the contest, Price was quick to praise the performance of his teammates versus Ottawa.
"The guys played really good in front of me. I thought we did a great job of pressuring the puck up ice, and we didn't really give them much," mentioned Price. "I was able to make a couple of saves, so I think everybody was on point tonight."

The Anahim Lake, BC native also got involved in the physical aspect of the contest during a scrum with Senators forward Brady Tkachuk.
Price was assessed his third minor penalty of the season and the 22nd minor of his career.
But he still managed to remain calm and help the Canadiens secure their second straight win.
"He was very good. He's always there to make the big save. He gives us a lot of confidence," mentioned Paul Byron. "We played a good 60-minute game."
Byron delivers the goods
The 30-year-old winger was playing his third game since returning to the lineup from injury.
Byron scored his second goal of the season. It was his first since November 5, 2019.

The Ottawa native is feeling more and more comfortable right now.
"I feel good. I'm feeling better every shift. It's so easy to play with my linemates," explained Byron, referencing Max Domi and Ilya Kovalchuk. "I'm doing my best to work hard and play a simple game. The two guys I'm playing with are incredible."

Byron's presence in the locker room is greatly appreciated by his teammates.
And his impact is already being felt on the ice.
"He's a leader on this team. He plays with a little bit of grit. I like that about him," stressed Price. "He doesn't back down from anybody and he uses his speed very well."
Domi shines in the opening frame
The Canadiens started the game strong.
By the time the matchup was just over nine minutes old, Domi had scored twice to give Montreal a 2-0 advantage.

In doing so, the 24-year-old centerman reached the 15-goal plateau for the third time in his career.
It was his second multi-goal game of the season, and his first since November 23, 2019 against the New York Rangers.

Since joining the Canadiens in June 2018, Domi has registered seven multi-goal efforts.
With his 246th and 247th points, he also officially surpassed the career point total of his father, Tie.
"I'm sure he's proud. Obviously I look up to my dad for a lot of reasons. I've got a long, long way to go. That's for sure. He played over 1,000 games, he played almost 100 NHL playoff games, so I don't really have that much to brag about," said Domi. "But he definitely sets the bar high and all you can do is work hard and get to even a fraction of what he did in his career."
