BROSSARD – Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms on one-year, two-way contracts with forward Samuel Poulin and defenseman Ethan Samson.

Poulin skated in 71 games in the AHL with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Bakersfield in 2025-26, registering 49 points (21G, 28A). The 25-year-old forward also played two games in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

A Blainville, QC native, Poulin played 15 career NHL games and recorded two assists in addition to serving six penalty minutes. The forward was drafted in the first round (21st overall) by the Penguins in the 2019 NHL Draft.

Samson played 40 games with Lehigh Valley and Syracuse in the AHL last season, amassing five goals and 13 helpers. The right-handed defenseman produced 54 points (20G, 34A) in 172 career AHL games since making his professional debut in 2023-24.

Samson, 22, was drafted in the sixth round (174th overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2021 NHL Draft.
