MONTREAL - From a field of 100, Juraj Slafkovsky went first overall.

REGISTER: 2023 Winter eGames 🎮
It was a strong finish to a session that began with the 18-year-old hitting the diamond for a try at dual-sport success.
Baseball might not be big where he's from, but Slafkovsky still swung for the virtual fences with a few rounds of MLB's The Show 22's Home Run Derby mode. Although he admitted he would have preferred controlling FC Barcelona for a game of FIFA 23, he nevertheless managed to hit a few dingers, first as Vladimir Guerrero Jr., then as Teoscar Hernandez, and finally as Aaron Judge.
MLB The Show 22 is one of five games on the docket for the Canadiens' 2023 Winter eGames Tournament, presented by Scotiabank in collaboration with Coke Studio and Mise-O-Jeu, which kicked off on Wednesday. The eGames are already underway, but there's still time to register for all five titles, which also include Rocket League, NBA 2K, FIFA 23, and NHL 23, not to mention the $15,000 in prizing up for grabs.
