TICKETS: LASSO Montreal
For the occasion, Canadiens forward Jake Evans has prepped a playlist of his favorite country tunes worthy of a wide-brimmed hat.
Note that some tracks may contain explicit lyrics. Listener discretion is advised.
It's easy to see why Evans included That's My Kind of Night by Luke Bryan. It's a classic country number about pickups, cold beverages, and hanging out with the boys that begs to be blasted on a road trip - although we recommend arriving on the festival site by metro.
Bryan is closing out LASSO Montreal as Saturday's headliner on Aug. 13 at 9:20 p.m. in a show not to be missed.
Friday's headliner Dierks Bentley meanwhile is represented with his 2016 track Somewhere on a Beach, and it's a perfect introduction to the 20-year industry veteran's catalogue of hits.
Nashville quintet Old Dominion appear most often on the playlist with five singles, and the band even includes a hockey connection. Guitarist and keyboardist Trevor Rosen is a noted NHL fan and once participated in the annual Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament as a youngster.

As a Toronto native, Evans is proof that a city boy can indeed go country. Follow the Canadiens on Spotify to see how his playlist stacks up to those curated by Nick Suzuki and Brendan Gallagher.
Then, hop on your horse and get ready for an ace-high time - who knows, you might even run into some Habs along the way.
