MONTREAL - The Canadiens recalled defenseman Gustav Lindström from the AHL’s Laval Rocket on an emergency basis on Tuesday morning.

The team also announced that David Savard will be out indefinitely with an upper-body injury.

The native of Ostervala, SE, was acquired by the team on August 15 in the trade that sent Jeff Petry to the Detroit Red Wings.

The 25-year-old blue-liner played four games with the Rocket this season.

Drafted in 2017, he has collected 25 points in 128 games in the NHL, all with the Red Wings.
