MONTREAL - The Canadiens assigned defenseman Frédéric Allard to the AHL's Laval Rocket on Monday.

Allard made his Habs debut on Sunday against the Golden Knights, playing 11:31 and registering two shots on goal in a 4-3 loss in Las Vegas.

The 25-year-old Saint-Sauveur, QC native was previously recalled from the Rocket on an emergency basis.
Allard was acquired on Friday from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for forward Nate Schnarr.
The Rocket are back in action on Wednesday night when they host the Belleville Senators at Place Bell. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. ET.
