MONTREAL - Last Monday night, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell made Habs fans across the globe smile.

On January 14, the 22-year-old Elmsford, NY native entered Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, UT sporting a Canadiens No. 33 jersey with Hall-of-Famer Patrick Roy's name on the back.
Shortly after the Jazz posted photographs of Mitchell's outfit, he received plenty of love on Twitter, as expected.

It turns out that the two-year NBA veteran, who was named to the League's All-Rookie First Team last season and claimed the coveted Slam Dunk Contest as well, is also a huge hockey fan and enjoys attending games.
"I started watching hockey when I was younger," explained Mitchell, the 13th overall selection of the Denver Nuggets in 2017. "My friends had suites at Rangers games, and I was always at Rangers, Devils and Islanders games when I was young."
That didn't stop him from rocking the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge recently for the tilt against the Detroit Pistons, though. He has a bit of a soft spot for the color scheme.

"The Canadiens jersey is definitely a fire one for me. I like that one," mentioned Mitchell. "Red's my favorite color, and I had a lot of stuff to match when I wore it, so it was pretty cool."
The jersey proved to be a good luck charm, of sorts, for the University of Louisville product, who went on to score a team-leading 28 points in Utah's 100-94 victory on home turf.
Now, all Mitchell has to do is make his way to Montreal at some point to proudly sport the CH again at the Bell Centre.
"I have not been in Montreal or to a Canadiens game, but I might have to change that," concluded Mitchell. "Our seasons kind of collide, so it might be tough. But, I'd definitely love to."
You're always welcome in our house, Donovan! We hope to see you soon.
