MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced Saturday that defenseman David Savard will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.

The veteran blueliner last played on March 28 in Philadelphia.
The 32-year-old defenseman tallied three goals and added 17 assists in 62 games this season. Savard recorded his 200th NHL point on March 13 against the Colorado Avalanche.
At the time of the announcement, Savard ranked 6th among all NHLers in blocked shots with 176.
