Canadiens recall Karl Alzner from Laval

The 31-year-old defenseman was recalled on an emergency basis from the club's AHL affiliate

MONTREAL - The Canadiens recalled defenseman Karl Alzner on an emergency basis from the AHL's Laval Rocket on Friday night. He will join the team in Ottawa.

Alzner has one goal and 13 points in 53 games with the Rocket this season, along with 24 penalty minutes and a plus-4 differential.
The 31-year-old Burnaby, BC native last appeared with the Canadiens on January 10, 2019 in St. Louis.
Alzner boasts 682 games of NHL experience between Washington and Montreal since debuting with the Capitals during the 2008-09 campaign.
He has amassed 20 goals and 130 points over the course of his career.
The 11-year veteran was the fifth-overall selection of the Capitals in the 2007 NHL Draft.
