MONTREAL - The Canadiens invite all fans of the digital edition of the team to come and face off against each other in the first Canadiens esports NHL 19 tournament presented by Bell, in collaboration with PlayStation and Montreal Esports, on February 23 at 1909 Taverne Moderne, located in the Bell Centre.

Over 30 participants will be selected to compete and potentially share in an impressive prize pool valued at over $10,000 which includes cash prizes, tickets for a Canadiens game in a suite, memorabilia, and much more. For the occasion, the Canadiens have made use of the technical expertise of Montréal Esports to assist them in organizing and broadcasting the event on the Twitch platform.

Spectators of the event will not be overlooked: on top of being able to watch the tournament live on 1909 Taverne Moderne's giant screen with live commentators, guests will be able to enjoy many activities linked to the tournament such as the Montreal Esports Academy, Montreal Comiccon, a family zone and a PlayStation 4 demo station. Everyone in attendance will also get the chance to take home one of the many door prizes that will be handed out throughout the event.
Participant registrations are open until February 17, 2019. Access to the event is free and open to everyone starting at 11:30 a.m. on February 23. The grand finale should take place around 3 p.m.
