MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract (2020-21) with forward Lukas Vejdemo.

The deal will pay Vejdemo $700,000 at the NHL level and $105,000 in the AHL.
The 6'2'' and 196 lbs forward played 47 games with the Laval Rocket in 2019-20, recording 19 points (9 goal, 10 assists) and serving 20 penalty minutes. Vejdemo also played seven games with the Canadiens this season, scoring his first NHL career goal on March 10, 2020 against the Nashville Predators.
Vejdemo collected 48 points (22 goals, 26 assists) in 113 AHL career games with the Rocket. Prior to his arrival in North America, the Stockholm, SE native registered 47 points (19 goals, 28 assists) in 147 games with Djurgardens (SHL).
Vejdemo was selected in the third round by the Canadiens (87th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
